5 Tips For Sharing Your Video

This is a question video professionals get A LOT. Or, we make a great video for a client, but it never gets properly shared online and no one watches it. I was doing some research for a client this morning and came across some great resources I thought I would share with everyone. These are the top tips to promote your video online and get people to watch and engage with your content. You can find the links to the articles I was pulling from below, but a lot of their top tips were the same:

1. Make sure to optimize your video on Youtube. This includes creating a title packed full of keywords, appropriately tagging your video, and making sure you have closed captions for your video.

2. Use an interesting and engaging thumbnail. Make sure whatever thumbnail is being used for your video looks nice- it could be a smiling person or a well designed graphic, just make sure it isn't pulling a random frame from your video, because that could get messy...

3. Don't be afraid to share your video. Share your video in an email newsletter, share it on your companies social media, and don't be afraid to share it on your personal social media as well!

4. Always have a plan. Posting your video online and seeing what happens is never a good idea. Come up with a strategy on how you are going to share and show your video to other people, and offer incentives for others to share the video as well.

5. Put some money behind your video. Try to run your video as a sponsored ad on social media or Youtube. Figure out who your audience is and try to target that demographic so they can see your video if they are outside your network.

Here are the links to a few of the articles I reference when helping clients figure out their next steps with video, they have all been very helpful to myself and clients.
