Why You Need Video Now More Than Ever

If you haven’t started integrating video into your marketing and business strategies, then now is the time. Using video has always been a great way to connect with customers online, but as social distancing and Zoom meetings become the new norm, having a professional video on your website or social media can go a long way. Businesses are cutting back on open houses and introduction meetings with clients, customers are spending less time dropping-in to new businesses in town, and more people are choosing to interact with businesses online. So, what better time to make sure you have some great video content? Here are some ideas of ways you can incorporate video into your business.

About Us

Have an About Us video on your website and feature it on your social media. This kind of video is necessary if you’re wanting to connect with your clients and customers by sharing what is unique about you, your team, or your business. It’s an easy way to personify your business and show your followers that there are real, hard-working people behind your business and that you’re doing amazing things. Host your video on your website, pin it to the top of your Facebook page, and share it on LinkedIn. You can even break the video up into small segments that can be shared on Instagram, or share it on IGTV.

I worked with The Paper Vow to create a video that captures the personality and creativity of the brand, while also showing off some of the products offered. I love how it feels so personal to Christy and you get a great sense of what she is like and what it’s like to work with her.
I’ve created a number of videos for Buckeye Interactive, but this brand video really sets the tone for the brand. It features multiple interviews and you can tell this small business really works well together and cares about its clients.

Product or Services Highlight

If you’re missing out on giving your clients and customers a face-to-face run-down of the products and services you offer, creating a video is the perfect solution. Create videos that show off your product or service, answer FAQ’s, explaining how your product or service works, and a video that shows how to use it. Depending on your industry and what you’re wanting to highlight, this could be a single video or an entire series. These types of videos are helpful on websites, but also make for great social media and email content.

I worked with Highlights to create a video for Highlights Library, a service they offer to teachers and students that has thousands of books and puzzles online to use for learning and comprehension. This product video offers a look at the goals of Highlights Library and shows off some of the great features of the site.
I absolutely LOVE working with The Tart Peach. The owner of the business is always looking for fresh and interesting content that shows off her products. She always comes to me with an idea or inspiration for a project and lets me go wild with the video I make for her. For this video, she wanted to feature some of the products in her new nail polish line and asked that I show off the drippy and smooth texture of the polish. She loved the video and shared it on her social media channels, where her followers loved it as well!

Reviews and Testimonials

Review and testimonial videos are tried and true. They’re a fantastic way to let your customers review your product or service and grow your reputation in a positive way. Ask clients you love if they’ll record testimonials about what it’s like to work with you or ask customers who keep coming back to review your product. It’s a win-win because your clients and customers will feel valued, and you’ll get some amazing content to share on your website and social media.

I worked with the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences (CCTS) at The Ohio State University to create a number of videos surrounding their Recruitment and Retention office. This video serves as a great testimonial for the Recruitment and Retention office at the CCTS, by telling a quick story of how one Doctor used their services to recruit participants for her study on children with ADHD.
I also created a video for the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland that acts as a testimonial for why the girls love Girl Scouts. This video was used on their social media channels, and as a fun video element to a virtual fundraiser that was held last fall.

No matter where you are in your business journey, creating some videos to engage your audience is a great idea. Let me know if you have any questions on where to get started!
